How do I select the correct SB series rating for my application?

Calculate the maximum current draw of the connected load. Apply a 1.25× safety factor. Select the SB rating above the result. Example: a 48V solar inverter drawing 60A maximum → 60A × 1.25 = 75A design current → use SB75. Do not undersize the connector — a connector operating at its maximum rated current runs hot and has reduced contact life. When in doubt, select the next higher rating.

Are different SB series sizes interchangeable?

No. SB30, SB75, SB120, and SB180 use different housing sizes and contact sizes — they are not interchangeable. An SB30 plug will not mate with an SB75 socket.
