PC-series straight push-to-connect fittings with male BSPT thread — the most common pneumatic fitting type for connecting tubing to threaded ports on cylinders, valves, manifolds, FRL units, and pneumatic equipment. The male BSPT thread screws into the equipment port; the tube inserts into the push-in collet on the opposite end. Available in all standard tube OD sizes (4–12mm) and BSPT thread sizes (1/8” to 1/2”). Bulk packs of 10 or 50 pieces for workshop stock and production use.
No. BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper) and NPT (National Pipe Taper, American standard) have different thread angles: BSPT uses a 55° thread angle; NPT uses a 60° thread angle. They have the same taper rate (1:16) and similar thread pitch, so they may partially engage but will not seal correctly. Forcing BSPT fittings into NPT ports (or vice versa) damages the threads and creates a leak path. Always verify the port thread standard before selecting fittings. Most Chinese and European pneumatic equipment uses BSPT; most American equipment uses NPT.
Yes, on the BSPT thread. Apply 2–3 wraps of PTFE tape in the direction of thread rotation (clockwise when viewed from the thread end), starting from the second thread. The push-in collet end requires no sealant — it seals via the internal O-ring. Do not apply PTFE tape to the first thread — tape on the first thread can be pushed into the port and contaminate the pneumatic circuit.
Hand-tight plus 1.5–2 turns with a wrench. BSPT threads seal on the taper — overtightening cracks the fitting body or strips the port thread. Undertightening causes leaks. For brass fittings in aluminum ports, be especially careful not to overtighten — aluminum threads strip easily. Use a torque wrench if available: typical torque for 1/4” BSPT brass fitting in aluminum = 15–20 N·m.
PC fittings are consumable items in pneumatic systems — they are replaced when the collet wears out (reduced tube retention force) or when the O-ring fails (air leak at the tube entry).
