Nissan headlight connectors are exposed to moisture ingress through the headlight housing seal, particularly on vehicles where the headlight seal has aged or been disturbed during bulb replacement. The 8-pin connector carries multiple circuits — low beam, high beam, DRL, and AFS motor control — so a single corroded pin can produce a specific, isolated fault. On Altima and Teana platforms, moisture tracking along the headlight wiring causes selective pin corrosion: the AFS motor control pins (5–6) are most vulnerable because they carry low-current signals that are more sensitive to increased contact resistance than the high-current beam circuits.
