Why GM Injector Connectors Fail

GM fuel injector connectors on LS, LT, and Ecotec engines are mounted in the engine valley, exposed to sustained heat and oil vapour from the PCV system. The 2-pin connector’s locking tab fractures from thermal cycling, allowing the connector to partially disengage. A partially disconnected injector connector causes the ECU to log a cylinder-specific injector circuit fault and run that cylinder lean, producing a misfire. On LS-family V8 engines, a single corroded injector connector is frequently misdiagnosed as a failed injector before the connector is inspected.

Compatible Applications

  • Chevrolet Silverado / Tahoe / Camaro – LS / LT V8 fuel injector harness
  • Chevrolet Cruze / Malibu / Equinox – Ecotec injector connector
  • Buick LaCrosse / Regal / Excelle – Fuel injector harness
  • GMC Sierra / Yukon – LS V8 injector connector
  • Cadillac ATS / CTS / Escalade – LT / LS injector harness

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: My GM has P0204 (cylinder 4 injector) but the injector tests OK — what’s wrong?
A: P0201–P0208 are circuit fault codes. A corroded or loose 2-pin connector produces the same code as a failed injector. Inspect the connector at the affected cylinder before replacing the injector.

Q: Are terminals included?
A: Yes, terminals are included with all variants.
