The balanced (differential) signal transmission of XLR cables rejects common-mode noise — making XLR the preferred connection for microphones, mixing consoles, power amplifiers, and any audio application where cable runs exceed 3–5 meters or pass near electrical interference sources. These connectors feature pure copper contacts for low contact resistance and color-coded heads for quick identification in multi-cable stage and studio environments.

XLR Pin Assignment — Standard Wiring
