2-Pin Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor Connector – Female OEM | IAT MAT Harness
2-Pin Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor Wire Harness Connector – Female OEM | IAT / MAT
This 2-pin female connector is used in intake manifold temperature sensor (also called Intake Air Temperature / IAT or Manifold Air Temperature / MAT sensor) harnesses. The 2-pin configuration carries sensor signal and ground circuits. The IAT/MAT sensor measures the temperature of air entering the engine, allowing the ECU to adjust fuel delivery and ignition timing for optimal combustion. Available bare or with 15cm pre-wired leads.
Key Specifications
- Pin count: 2-pin
- Gender: Female
- Housing material: High-temp nylon (PA66)
- Available as: Bare connector or 15cm pre-wired leads
- Application: Intake manifold temperature sensor (IAT / MAT) harness
2-Pin IAT Sensor Circuit Assignment
- Pin 1 (SIG): Sensor signal output (NTC thermistor — resistance decreases as temperature increases)
- Pin 2 (GND): Sensor ground (shared sensor ground reference from ECU)
How the IAT Sensor Works
The IAT sensor is a Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) thermistor — its resistance decreases as temperature increases. The ECU applies a 5V reference voltage through a pull-up resistor; the voltage at the signal pin varies with the sensor’s resistance (and therefore temperature). The ECU uses this voltage to calculate intake air temperature and adjust:
- Fuel injection pulse width: Cold air is denser, requiring more fuel; hot air is less dense, requiring less fuel
- Ignition timing: Hot intake air increases knock risk; the ECU retards timing to prevent detonation
- Boost pressure (turbocharged engines): High intake air temperature triggers boost reduction to protect the engine
- Cold start enrichment: Cold intake air temperature triggers additional fuel enrichment for cold starting

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: My engine has poor fuel economy and P0113 (IAT circuit high input) — is this the connector?
A: P0113 (high input) means the ECU is reading a very high resistance on the IAT signal pin, which it interprets as very cold air temperature. This causes the ECU to over-enrich the fuel mixture, reducing fuel economy and increasing emissions. A corroded or open-circuit IAT connector causes P0113. Replace the connector before replacing the IAT sensor ($15–40).
Q: Are terminals included?
A: Yes, terminals are included with all variants.
